The makeup of personal identifiers assigned to owners of books attributed to Tertullian in the PLRE.Folger dataset.

There were only three identified books in the PLRE attributed to Tertullian. Since he is known as the first to produce an extensive body of Christian literature in Latin, it is unsurprising that all of the identified works were printed in Latin.

Of the three, two were the complete works, so likely quite similar to that from the Bader-Hatcher acquisition. However, the third is not a work included in the complete works; it is Ad nationes, a two-volume work, too large to fit in this single-volume edition.

As there were only three books attributed to Tertullian identified in the PLRE, there is not enough evidence to draw any significant conclusions about readership or ownership of the work. However, it is of note that the trend of works present in or related to the acquisition continues to lean towards the scholarly. Of the three owners, two were scholars and one was a diplomat.
